Bristol-based alt-rockers Beyond Recall have been causing a stir in their home city recently with the announcement of a crowdfunding campaign which they hope will help propel their career to the next level.
After being named by Edith Bowmen as one of Virgin Radio’s Freshest Bands of 2017, the trio made up of 20 year old Chris Hewitt from Portishead, 24 year old Joshy Willett from Hanham, and 24 year old frontman Zaid Elgahmi from Fishponds, also regularly find themselves playlisted on Kerrang and Scuzz. In January 2017 the band partnered with one of the world’s largest pro-equality and anti-bullying charities Ditch The Label for a nationwide schools tour addressing the growing issue of cyberbullying. Having already performed to over 7,000 young people across the country, the band are now aiming to reach the next milestone of 10,000 by the end of the year.
Earlier this year the band also started working with producer Matt O’Grady who is responsible for some of the biggest hits by bands like You Me At Six, Deaf Havana, Don Broco. Together they have created a collection of new tracks, the first of which, ‘Wonder’, scheduled for release at the end of September. To promote the track the band are taking to the road alongside fellow rockers Young Guns on a 6 date tour which is set to visit Southampton, London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and Cardiff.
However it’s their very own single launch party that the band are the most excited about. On Sunday 17th September Beyond Recall will premiere their hotly anticipated new single at The Tunnels in Bristol with a headline set supported by other local acts, and that’s where they need the help of local people.
Speaking about the exciting few months ahead, Zaid said, “This year has been really amazing for Beyond Recall. As ever, our fanbase has been so supportive in turning out to our shows as well as continuing to share our music. But we’re only able to take things to the next level if we can pull together our fans, old to new to help us raise £2500 through our recently launched Pledge Music crowdfunding campaign. This money is essential for us to be able to promote our new music and take Beyond Recall to the next level”.
