At the end of September 3 artists from our UK roster traded the rainy shores of Britain for the Hollywood Hills as part of our latest UK to LA Exchange Programme.
Following the success of the first exchange earlier this year, this was the second trip for Scottish singer-songwriter Jemma Tweedie, who was joined by Essex electro-popper Bradley Say and Birmingham rapper Kay Kumar for a week filled with music production, performance opportunities and industry networking.
During the packed 7 day schedule; Bradley, Jemma and Kay worked with our award-winning team of LA based songwriters and producers to create a selection of new demo tracks. Between them the production team have a number of accolades, which include work with some of the worlds’ biggest artists. “The aim of our Exchange Programme is to give UK artists an opportunity to experience the height of the global music industry in the entertainment capital of the world”, said Ben Rees, Co-CEO of The Famous Company.
Whilst in LA participants also filmed a series of acoustic videos on board the world famous HMS Queen Mary which is now docked in trendy arts district Long Beach. The UK artists also had the opportunity to work with LA based artists who have been working with Famous since our US launch earlier this year.
As part of our ongoing corporate partnership with Vocalzone the UK artists blogged and recorded live sessions on a Downtown LA rooftop. George Ponsford, Sales & Marketing Director of Vocalzone said “We were really pleased to be collaborate again with our friends at The Famous Company on their UK to LA Exchange Programme. Our commitment to supporting the exciting wave of emerging talent from the UK music scene is as strong as ever, and we’re always looking for new and creative ways to work with artists around the country to help build their careers. We look forward to seeing our partnership with The Famous Company continue to grow even further.”
