Big Brother star Sam Kay swaps reality TV for the recording studio, as she teams up with 90s house icon Angie Brown and rapper Pablo on debut single “Show Me”.
Although Sam first rose to fame after appearing on the UK version of the popular reality tv show, acting was never the main agenda for the 29-year-old performer. In fact, Sam’s passions have always swung more towards singing. Avid X-Factor fans may remember a 17-year-old Sam gracing their tv screens as Princess Jasmine to sing ‘500 miles’, complete with roll-up yoga mat as a makeshift magic carpet.
A few years later, Sam would again make headlines after her on-screen feud with X-Factor judge, Cheryl, who suggested Sam would make a better stand-up than a singer. “I had this fire in my belly from that point on”, says Sam, refusing to be batted down by the ex-Girls Aloud singer’s remarks.
Now, 2 years on, Sam has just released her debut single ‘Show Me’ – a fun-loving, floor-filling house number, complete with a brand new music video. Shot in 8 hours, the video sees Sam embrace her easy-going attitude, as she soaks up the night (and the odd drink!) with close friends.
Talking about the track, Sam explains “I love to take people on a journey with my music, whether that’s moving them emotionally or simply moving them onto the dancefloor – and that’s what I hope “Show Me” will do.
Coming off the back of this, Sam will also be featuring on Dennis G’s (“Sambuca”) upcoming album, set to be released sometime in 2018.
