Staunching out onto the stage on a beautifully vibrant Saturday night, Danish pop singer and producer MØ kicked off a trailblazing performance, packed full of energy, sass, and undeniable groove.
With incredible sets from performing acts Meadowlark and Skott. MØ opened up her set with her low-key electronic track ‘Roots’, moving on to spring out some new material (hopefully part of a future album to come?), and some well-known classics from her many collaborations with leading artists. MØ delivered us a high-spirited, festival-ready show, getting everyone in the audience dancing to the saucy rhythm of her music, all whilst admiring her endearing Danish accent whenever she spoke.
From everything to running up and down the stage, to jumping into the crowd without spoiling a single note, MØ conveyed her very loud and artistic character with sincere vivaciousness.
After postponing the original dates for her UK tour, the potential volume of people at venues during her shows was a lot less than it would have been. In a statement from MØ herself regarding the rescheduling of her shows, she decided that her ‘new music was not quite finished yet’, and that she wanted to make sure everything was perfectly ready before beginning the tour. A sweet, and heartfelt reasoning behind what could have been just another ultimate show cancellation.
Nonetheless, for anyone who was lucky enough to make her concert, it was worth the wait. Her alive and effervescent personality was a perfect addition to her banging mix of electronic pop. Throwing in songs like Justin Bieber’s ‘Cold Water’ and the ever-so-popular ‘Lean On’ by Major Lazor, being the hit song which brought her up high in the music ranks as a global artist.
In a stellar performance from MØ and her band and production team, her vocal range blowing the roof off the place, the Dane definitely gave it her all. A perfect set of beautiful character, blissful energy, and a solid discotheque vibe.
With the entire audience danced out and tender, MØ gave an end to her performance, and alas her final show of the tour in Bristol, UK. With plenty of new music and talk of a new album in the works, there is no denying that MØ is preparing us for a huge year of new material and plenty of festival appearances in 2018.
